I'm looking for a working partner to help expand a regional on-line news organ, supported by paid advertising.

- Inquisitive about community affairs and
- Able to reduce them to succinct written articles for timely publication
- Proficient in writing in the English language
- At ease with community business owners, who are our advertisers
- Able to assist in writing advertising copy
- Comfortable talking with community leaders who are sources for news

- Familiar with how the Internet works, uploading pages and maintaining them current on a remote server
- Able to create basic Web pages using MS FrontPage 2000-2003 and/or MS Expression Web or similar program
- Able to "plug in" elements to existing Web pages
- Familiar enough with HTML to be able to tweak such Web pages
- Able to create response forms, internal and external hyperlinks

- Adept at acquiring relevant e-mail addresses, maintaining lists and using them for content distribution
This is not a salaried "position."
You'll work as an independent contractor, at your own pace and from your own home.
You need a reputation for honesty, promptness and keeping promises.
You'll need a Hawaii GE Tax license, a business bank account and a method for accepting credit card payment, e.g., PayPal.
You will pay your own taxes.
There are no employer-paid benefits.
You need your own computer, software and high-speed Internet access.
Except for necessary contact with customers or news sources, virtually all other associated work and correspondence can be handled electronically. There's no need to commute to an office or spend hours in traffic.Windward Oahu is our targeted area. A person who lives in Kailua-Kaneohe, should have the best understanding of what interests our readers and be able to tailor content to the market.
I'm a quite senior entrepreneur with strong real estate, communication and computer skills. I've been actively publishing Internet content for 20+ years. I'll help you get started in a field that has no earnings limit or the constraints of working for someone else in their office. That doesn't mean a free lunch. I won't waste your time or mine. Be prepared to meet easily attainable goals.
You don't need to buy anything from me.
